Once I asked a friend,
"What do you have to leave behind to find yourself?"
and he responded with,
"Anything that makes you comfortable."

You don't have to leave behind everything to go on a journey.
You just need to step outside of your comfort zone,
and I guarantee that your life will improve if you just
test the waters a little.

sometimes its hard to step out of the comfort zone. i could see fear being an issue, but my problem is finding ways to do that. when i do it right everything is much better but if i do it wrong then i only think i did it right. ^^;
great writing, the're always so provacative

There are no ways. You just have to get out there and do it. It helps if you have someone to push and encourage you!

Thank you very much. :)

a beautiful sentiment, unfortunately most people seek their comfort zone rather than actively seek to break out of it. challenging yourself is the only path to true artistic growth and evolution of self as a human being

Thank you! :)

I completely agree. It's unfortunate that most people aren't willing to leave their comfort zones. Even I find it difficult sometimes, but I try my best.

it's your obligation as an artist. if you don't bleed for it sometimes, yer not doin it right. stagnancy in any form is death. i will now descend from the soapbox! :blahblah:

...a few too many line returns I think. It makes it less of a poem to me.

It's so hard to read like that. You instinctively pause at each line's end, but then it takes too long to read.

Still, the words themselves are pretty nicely written. I'd recommend a new format though, just to make it easier to read.

But that's just my opinion...

I really appreciate you sharing your opinion with me! It means a lot.

I see what you mean. It is pretty choppy. It was more experimental than anything. I shall play with more formats, though. Hopefully I can come up with something that's easier to read.

Thank you!
