Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you finally made the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean more quality to the paintings, am i right?.
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

Winter Dreams

Sleepless

I'm leaving to go home on Sunday. I originally planned to go home on Wednesday, but there was an unexpected death in the family a few days ago, so my mom and step-dad are driving back home for the funeral. I'm going as well and getting a ride home in the process. I really don't want to talk about it, though, so please, please don't ask. ♥

I haven't been keeping up here like I should. I have four hundred journals to catch up on. I'm considering clearing them all before I leave. Realistically, I'm not sure I could handle them all. Perhaps I will clear them, and if there's something you guys want me to see, you can note me the link. I would appreciate that.

I hope you all had a great Christmas and I wish you the best in the new year. My Christmas was good despite everything going on. I have high hopes for this coming year. I know it's going to be even better than the last. I'll let you guys in on why sometime in the future. :]

I'll resume my normal activity as soon as I can. Take care.
